Exhibit description | Švč. Dievo Motina ikonoje vaizduojama iki pusės, maldai iškeltomis rankomis (orantos poza). Ant jos krūtinės, apskritame medalione, vaizduojamas Kūdikis Jėzus – Emanuelis (hebr. Immanuel – „Dievas su mumis“), primenantis Izaijo pranašystę: „Todėl pats Viešpats duos jums ženklą: Štai mergelė laukiasi, – ji pagimdys sūnų ir pavadins jį Emanuelio vardu“ (Iz 7, 14). Pagal pranašo žodžius šio ikonografinio tipo Švč. Dievo Motinos ikonos Rusijoje yra vadinamos Ženklo iš dangaus (rus. Знамение) pavadinimu. Išreikšdamos pranašystę apie Jėzaus gimimą, rusų cerkvių ikonostasuose Švč. Dievo Motinos Ženklo iš dangaus ikonos yra įkomponuojamos pranašų eilės centre. Tema populiari ir kaip savarankiška kompozicija. Net trylika šio ikonografinio tipo Švč. Dievo Motinos ikonų Stačiatikių Bažnyčios yra pripažintos stebuklingomis. Garsiausia iš jų – Novgorodo ikona, pasak legendos 1170 m. stebuklingu būdu išgelbėjusi Novgorodą nuo Suzdalės pulkų. Ikonos šventė lapkričio 27 d. |
