Exhibit description | Tai ne tik vienas pirmųjų muziejaus įgytų eksponatų, bet ir vienas ankstyviausių LDK portretinių pavyzdžių, atspindinčių manierizmo stilistiką, senas epitafijų kūrimo tradicijas. Stanislovas Sabinas (? - miręs apie 1588 m.) – Vilniaus miesto vaitas, teismų administratorius, pinigų kalyklos valdytojas, medicinos daktaras, karaliaus sekretorius – raižinyje vaizduojamas kaip šarvuotas karys. Išlenktame torse ir atloštame ilgame, stambių bruožų veide atsispindi tvirto ir valdingo, savimi pasitikinčio didiko energija. Išskirtinis dėmesys sutelktas į puošnius paradinius šarvus, išmargintus smulkiais kalstytais figūriniais reljefais. Aplink portreto medalioną dekoratyviame aprėminime talpinamos alegorinės ir heraldinės figūros. Aprėminimo viršuje, centre iškilusi Kristaus figūra, o abipus klūpi Sabino šeimos nariai. Kairėje – vyrai, t. y. pats Sabinas su penkiais sūnumis, dešinėje – Sabino žmona ir keturios dukterys. Portreto dešinėje, po herbu komponuojamas dešimties eilučių informacinis įrašas. Tekstas skelbia, jog graviūros autorius laiko save pirmiausia tapytoju ir poetu, o tik po to nurodo, jog jis ne tik raižė atvaizdą, bet ir buvo jo kūrėjas (inventor), t. y. piešė portretuojamąjį iš natūros (delineabat ad vivum). Įrašo apačioje įraižyta graikų tapytojui Apeliui priskiriama sentencija NULLA DIES SINE LINEA (Nė dienos be brūkšnio) turi liudyti nenuilstamą dailininko darbštumą. Estampo apatinės dalies centre stačiakampiu rėmeliu apibrėžta raižinio autoriaus monograma N / AF. |
