Exhibit description | Gobelenas Aleksandro Didžiojo ir Statiros vestuvių šventė
Eksponatą perdavė Valdovų rūmų paramos fondas 2010 m. sausio 15 d. Suteiktos paramos natūra priėmimo-perdavimo aktu Nr. 05/1. Valdovų rūmų paramos fondas už rėmėjų suaukotas lėšas 2005 m. gegužės 12 d. gobeleną įsigijo Giorgio Scaccabarozzi Antiquariato (Bergamas, Italija) antikvariate
Briuselio dirbtuvėse išaustas gobelenas vaizduoja įvykį iš Aleksandro Didžiojo gyvenimo. Šis valdovas sukūrė imperiją, kuri vienijo daugybę tautų, užėmė didžiulę teritoriją apimančia dalį pietų Europos ir didelę dalį Vidurinės Azijos. Ilgai kovojęs su persų valdovu Darijumi III, Aleksandras jį nugalėjo Iso mūšyje. 324 m. pr. Kr. Aleksandras Didysis Sūzuose (dab. Šušas, Iranas) vedė Darijaus III dukterį Statirą. Šių vestuvių scena pavaizduota muziejaus turimame gobelene. Istoriniai šaltiniai byloja, kad vestuvės buvo labai iškilmingos. Kartu su Aleksandru vietines moteris vedė ir daug jo bendražygių bei pavaldinių, tarp jų draugas Hefestionas, kuris susituokė su Statiros seserimi Dripetide. Pirmajame gobeleno plane kiek dešiniau nuo centro vaizduojama Aleksandro Didžiojo ir Statiros pora. Aleksandras vaizduojamas su šarvais ir šalmu, Statira vilki puošnią siuvinėta suknelę, galvos apdangalą su perlais ir plunksnomis, o kairėje rankoje laiko vėduoklę. Kairėje vaizduojama moteris žvelgianti į Statirą. Gal būt čia vaizduojama pirmoji Aleksandro Didžiojo žmona Roksana. Antrajame gobeleno plane matomi trimitininkai, raiteliai, tolumoje esantis kalnai su pavieniais pastatais. Teigiama, kad užkariavęs Persiją Aleksandras perėmė rytietiško gyvenimo papročius, tačiau jau praėjus metams po vestuvių 323 m. pr. Kr. jis mirė. Anot Plutarcho, kuris paraše vieną seniausių Aleksandro Didžiojo biografijų, Statira ir jos seserį nužudė Aleksandro pirmoji žmona Roksana. O palaikus įmetė į šulinį ir užpylė smėliu. |
