Exhibit description | „Tuomet Pilotas ėmė ir nuplakdino Jėzų“ – tik tiek apie Kristaus nuplakimą Judėjos valdytojo Poncijaus Piloto pretorijuje parašyta Evangelijoje pagal Joną. Ne ką daugiau randame ir kitose Naujojo Testamento vietose. Tačiau šis Kristaus gyvenimo įvykis nuolatos sulaukdavo menininkų dėmesio. Neretai nuplakimo scenoje, be Kristaus, dar būdavo vaizduojami jį plakantys kareiviai arba soste sėdintis Poncijus Pilotas, tačiau dažnai Kristus matomas vienas. Muziejaus skulptūrėlė vaizduoja Kristų, stovintį prie lygios kolonos užlaužtomis už nugaros ir ties riešais surištomis rankomis. Persmelktą kančių kūną ties klubais dengia siauras raištis, vadinamas prezorijumu. Kristaus galva palenkta, o žvilgsnis nukreiptas į dangų. Kolonos viršuje puslankiu pavaizduotos penkios cherubinų galvos, sudarančios aureolę virš Kristaus galvos. Nedidelė skulptūrėlė greičiausiai buvo skirta edikulai iš prabangios medienos. Renesansinės skulptūrėlės autorystė priskiriama nežinomam Venecijos skulptoriui, kuris buvo artimas Jogailaičių dvare dirbusiam Džanmarijai Moskai (Gianmaria Mosca, 1495/1499–1574), vadintam Padujiečiu (Padovano). Spėjama, kad D. Moska gimė Paduvoje, ten pat 1507–1512 m. mokėsi. Jo kūriniai Italijoje minimi nuo 1516 m., kai jis dirbo Paduvos ir Venecijos krašte. 1529 m. Padujietis atvyko į Lenkiją. 1532 m. sukūrė medalius, vaizduojančius Lietuvos ir Lenkijos valdovus – Žygimantą Senąjį (1506–1548), Boną Sforcą (1494–1557) ir mažametį Žygimantą Augustą (1544/1548–1572). Lenkijoje ir Lietuvoje skulptorius labiausiai išgarsėjo kaip antkapinių paminklų meistras. Kūrė Žygimanto Augusto pirmosios žmonos Elžbietos Habsburgaitės (1526–1545) antkapį Vilniaus Šv. Onos ir Barboros bažnyčiai, 1552 m. pradėjo darbus prie Lenkijos karalienės ir Lietuvos didžiosios kunigaikštienės Barboros Radvilaitės (1522/1523–1551) antkapio. Manoma, kad Padujietis 1558 m. dirbo Vilniuje, čia sukūrė vyskupų Valerijono Protasevičiaus ir Povilo Alšėniškio antkapius. Atsižvelgiant į įvairias detales ir stilistinį panašumą, manoma, kad skulptūrėlės autorius buvo išprusęs kūrėjas, priklausęs D. Moskos ratui. Vertybės įsigijimą finansavo Lietuvos kultūros taryba |
