Exhibit description | Graviūroje vaizduojamas Mintaujos tvirtovės ir Dobelės pilies pastatų išplanavimas. Lotyniškai užrašyti objektų pavadinimai. Atspaudo Nr. 93. Mintauja – XVI–XVII a. LDK vasalo Kuršo kunigaikštystės sostinė. 1561 m. lapkričio 28 d. Vilniaus sutartimi atiteko buvusio Livonijos ordino paskutiniam magistrui pasauliečiui Gotardui Ketleriui ir jo palikuonims. Tai buvo politinio ir kultūrinio gyvenimo centras, miestas-tvirtovė. Įrašas kairiajame viršutiniame Mintaujos plano kampe byloja, kad tai Kuršo valdovo miestas ir pilis, 1659 m. užimti feldmaršalo grafo R. Daglaso (R. Douglas) (Abiejų Tautų Respublikos–Švedijos karas). Plane miestas apjuostas žvaigždine gynybine siena su bastionais, kurtinomis, fasais ir pylimais. Pažymėti ketveri vartai, pavadinti Lietuvos, Duobelės, Mergelių ir Uosto vardais. Iš vienos pusės miestą juosia Platonio upė, per kurią nutiestas tiltas. Nuo Platonio upės teka atšaka į Lielupę, jungianti abi upes. Tarp Platonio ir Lielupės upių pastatyta bastioninė pilis su vandens pripildytais grioviais, kurie sujungti su Lielupe. Antroje lapo dalyje pavaizduotas Duobelės pilies planas. Įraše sakoma, kad tai Kuršo valdovo pilis, švedų užimta 1659 m. Pilies teritorija netaisyklingos trapecijos formos, apjuosta pylimu. Iš pilies veda vartai, kuriuos juosia dar vienas pylimas. Visą pilies teritoriją su pylimu juosia gamtinės rėvos, sudarančios priešams dar vieną kliūtį. Už pilies sienų pažymėtas sodas, Beržės upė ir šaltinis, įtekantis į Beržės upę. Pilies teritorijoje pažymėti pastatai su pavadinimais. Tai kunigaikščio rūmai, kalvio dirbtuvė, gubernatoriaus namai, kariniai sandėliai ir šulinys. Duobelės pilis pastatyta patogioje strateginėje vietoje prie Beržės upės, įtekančios į Lielupę, kuri savo vandenis plukdo į Baltijos jūrą. Jau XIII a. Duobelė minima kaip žiemgalių pilis kovose su kryžiuočiais. XIV–XV a. – Livonijos ordino valda. |
