Karl I; 1887-08-17, Persenbeugo pilis, Austrija – 1922-04-01, Kvinta do Monte, Madeira) – 1916-1918 m. Vengrijos karalius, Austrijos imperatorius. Paskutinis Austrijos-Vengrijos dualistinės monarchijos valdovas, kilęs iš Habsburgų Lotaringų dinastijos. Valdymo pradžioje pradėjo slaptas derybas su Prancūzija dėl Austrijos-Vengrijos pasitraukimo iš Pirmojo pasaulinio karo, kurios žlugo atsisakius perleisti Italijai dalį teritorijų. 1918 m. lapkričio 11 d. atsisakė dalyvavimo valstybės valdyme, bet ne sosto. 1919 m. pavasarį emigravo į Šveicariją. Vengrų monarchistų skatinamas 1921 m. du kartus nesėkmingai mėgino atgauti Vengrijos sostą. Mirė nuo plaučių uždegimo. 2004 m. paskelbtas palaimintuoju. |
