Exhibit description | Leidėjo Pierre'o Mortiero (1661–1711) 1700 m. išleista biblija vadinama didžiąja Mortiero biblija, bet jos tikrasis pavadinimas buvo „Historie des Ouden en Nieuwen Testaments, verrykt met meer dan vierhonderd printverbeeldingen in koper gesneeden“. Tekstą šiai biblijai parašė prancūzų protestantų teologas Davidas Martinas. Vertikalaus formato lakštuose buvo komponuojamos dvi iliustracijos, jose vaizduojami įvykiai, paremti Senuoju Testamentu. Aptariami siužetai iš Penkiaknygės penktosios knygos Pakartoto Įstatymo knygos „Mozė paskiria Jozuę “ ir „Mozės mirtis“. Pirmasis siužetas atskleidžia Jozuės paskyrimą vadovauti izraelitams: „Tada Mozė pasišaukė Jozuę ir viso Izraelio akyse jam tarė: „Būk stiprus ir ryžtingas, nes eisi su šia tauta į kraštą, kurį jiems duoti VIEŠPATS yra prisiekęs jų tėvams. Tu turėsi jiems jį padalyti. Pats VIEŠPATS eina pirma tavęs. Jis bus su tavimi, tavęs vieno nepaliks ir tavęs neapleis. Nebijok ir neišsigąsk!“ Antrasis siužetas pasakoja apie Mozės mirtį: „Tada Mozė užkopė nuo Moabo lygumų į Nebo'o kalną, Pisgos viršūnę, esančią priešais Jerichą, ir VIEŠPATS parodė jam visą kraštą: Gileadą iki pat Dano, visą Naftalį, Efraimo ir Manaso kraštą, visą Judo kraštą iki pat Vakarų jūros, Negebą ir Lygumą, Jericho slėnį, Palmių miestą, iki pat Zoaro. VIEŠPATS jam sakė: „Tai yra kraštas, kurį prisiekiau duoti Abraomui, Izaokui ir Jokūbui, tardamas: 'Aš duosiu jį tavo palikuonims'. Leidau tau jį pamatyti savo akimis, bet tenai tu nenueisi“. Taigi VIEŠPATIES tarnas Mozė numirė ten, Moabo krašte, pagal VIEŠPATIES žodį. Jis buvo palaidotas slėnyje, Moabo krašte, priešais Bet-Peorą, bet jo kapo vietos niekas nežino iki šios dienos. 7 Mozė mirė turėdamas šimtą dvidešimt metų; akys dar nebuvo jam aptemusios, jo jėgos dar nebuvo išsekusios. Izraeliečiai verkė Mozės Moabo lygumose trisdešimt dienų.“ |
