Content description
Jonas Čeponis (1926–2003) yra vienas žymiausių lietuvių dailininkų modernistų, tapęs ryškaus, spalvingo kolorito dekoratyvius kūrinius. Jis puoselėjo arsininkų įtvirtintą individualią menininko raišką, modernizmo principais grįstą kompozicijos, spalvų, linijų ritmo ir formų įtaigą bei liaudies meno principų vienovę.
Jono Čeponio 90-ųjų gimimo metinių jubiliejui skirta išsami tapybos retrospektyva išskaidyta į keletą svarbesnių temų ir idėjų: 1. Tyliojo modernizmo proceso dalyvis. Ankstyvojo laikotarpio ieškojimai. 2. Spalvingas žvilgsnis į gamtą. Vilniaus senamiesčio motyvai. 3. Romantiškas žvilgsnis. Jūra ir laivai. 4. Šventė kasdienybėje. Figūros ir veidai.
