14^th century Kaunas Castle is the oldest historical object in Kaunas and one of the oldest brick castles in Lithuania.

The exhibitions present the most significant historical facts and personalities, castle’s metamorphoses and changes in its functions from the 14th century until the present day. The exhibitions are arranged in the five areas of the castle tower. They will be attractive both for visitors who are looking for historical facts and authentic exhibits and those who seek entertainment.

Mikas and Kipras Petrauskai House In Žaliakalnis was designed in 1924 by A. Golovinskis. Visitors are welcomed by the restored inter-war house interior, the versatile personality of the singer Kipras Petrauskas is introduced, the opportunity to listen to the sensitive poetry of Elena Žalinkevičaitė-Petrauskienė is given. Visitors are also introduced to educational and creative activities of Mikas Petrauskas. The interactive exhibition “State Theater. Music of the Nation” provides information on various productions of State Theater, operas and ballets, conductors, artists, dancers, musicians. 

Events – concerts, festivals, commemorations, conferences – allow visitors to touch the history of Lithuanian professional music.

Located in the heart of Kaunas, the Town Hall is a symbol of the city, captivating with its graceful architecture and pulsating cultural life. 

Kaunas Town Hall presents rich collections of archaeological finds, open spaces for exhibitions. The Tower Prison Chamber, the office of the bourgeois, the exhibition in vaulted cellars present the everyday life of Kaunas residents who lived several centuries ago, testify to the uniqueness of Kaunas. Visitors are also invited to look at the panorama of Kaunas Old Town through the windows of the Town Hall tower.

Lithuanian Folk Music Section presents traditional lithuanian music and the cultural context of the folk music in a modern and interactive way.

In the modern exhibition visitor can not only see unique old Lithuanian musical instruments, but also hear the music, sing karaoke and even watch videos of post-folklore performers. Once the visitor enters the courtyard, the 16th century gothic-style building fascinates, here the folk musical instruments are on display.
