Vilnius Museum is a new educational space that opened its doors to city residents and guests in 2021. The museum presents unique, previously unknown yet relevant histories and storeys of the city.

Vilnius Museum aims to explore and present aspects of life in Vilnius in a modern way and to collect the artefacts of the city's history. A dynamic, ever-changing museum, just like the city itself, plans to present exhibitions based on authentic city life research. Dedicated exclusively to Vilnius, the museum invites visitors to take a closer look at the environment we live in and discover something unexpected in it.

By bringing together experts in urbanism, architecture, sociology, anthropology, history, heritage preservation, visual arts, literature, music, science and other fields, the museum investigates the city and presents new interpretations of Vilnius' history and culture; makes the forgotten and “uncomfortable” periods of the city's history and culture relevant again; opens up space for dialogue; and makes it possible to understand not only the past but also the present of the city.
