Information about the museum
The Joniškis Museum of History and Culture was founded in 1989. The museum presents ethnographic, archaeological, and religious art exhibitions depicting the collected and preserved historical heritage, archaeology, ethnic culture, folk art and sacred art of the Žiemgala region. Here visitors can learn the most fascinating facts of history from the earliest times to the present day.
The museum promotes the work of artists and researchers from Joniškis. Exhibitions of fine arts and folk art are often organised, and the museum holds craft days and organises outdoor painting sessions.
