Information about the museum
Jurbarkas Regional Museum was established in 1991. The museum opened in one of the buildings, formerly belonged to the dukes Vasilčikovai. Earlier the building served a purpose to accommodate the dukes' honorable guests and relatives. Until 1991, it was Jurbarkas secondary school, which later was turned into musical school, where folk artists worked and others lived. In 1991 the building was adapted to the needs of the museum.
Strategic goals of Jurbarkas Regional Museum are to promote integration of audio, visual and other technological means into museum exhibitions, to expand cooperation and communication between museum and educational institutions, local communities, non-governmental organizations, other museums, to establish formal and non-formal education and lifelong learning programs.
