Information about the museum
The Skuodas Museum is one of the youngest municipal museums in Lithuania. It is located in the old part of the city – in one of the buildings of the Skuodas Manor. Since 1918, the premises housed the first gymnasium of Skuodas and were later home to many other cultural institutions. The museum was founded in 1991. It collects, preserves, researches, promotes and displays objects of cultural heritage representing the Curonian and Western Samogitian culture; the work of local craftsmen; and exhibits testifying to the current economic, social and cultural development of the region.
Most of the museum space is dedicated to permanent exhibitions. The museum also houses an event hall.
