Information about the museum
Kaišiadorys Museum was established in 1998. The establishment of the museum in Kaišiadorys was already in mind in the pre-war period, around 1930. The oldest exhibits of the museum are from the shores of Kalviai lake, where the settlements of the Stone Age were located after the melting of glaciers, the latest exhibits are related to the President of Lithuania Algirdas Brazauskas (1932–2010). He lived and studied in Kaišiadorys, later visited his parents' house.
The museum archive contains research files, video, photo and audio material, the library holds publications appropriate to the nature of the museum activities.
The purpose of historical-cultural exploration is to learn about local cultural, social, economic and political developments, as well as to reveal the historical context of the exhibits. Another important activity of the museum is publishing.
Kaišiadorys Museum has 2 subdivisions: Jonas Aistis Exhibition, Brazauskai Home-Museum.
