Exhibit description | Lodovikas Džiminjanis (Lodovico Gimigniani) – XVII amžiaus II pusės dailininkas, Romos mokyklos atstovas. Dar studijų metais jam teko garbė dirbti su garsiuoju Berniniu. Vėliau jis dirbo savo krikštatėvio popiežiaus Klemenso IX dvarui, dekoravo rūmus, koplyčias ir bažnyčias, kūrė projektus indams, antkapiniams paminklams. |

Information about historical, cultural and art object
Plot | Darbas „Heraklis ir Omfalė“ nutapytas pagal mitologinį siužetą. Įveikęs visas dvylika Euristėjo užduočių ir išsivadavęs iš jo jungo, Heraklis netrukus buvo begėdiškai apgautas Echalijos karaliaus Eurito – nors ir nugalėjo jį šaudymo varžybose, vis dėlto negavo į žmonas jo gražuolės dukters Ijolės. Įžeistas ir nusiminęs, didvyris susirgo ir kaip plėšikų korsarų belaisvis buvo parduotas Lidijos karalienei Omfalei. Šioji savo karalystėje buvo įvedusi keistą tvarką – pati rengdavosi vyriškais drabužiais, o savo tarnams ir kariams liepdavo taisytis moteriškai. Taip pat ir Heraklis, po savo ligos tapęs nuolankus ir bevalis, sėdėjo karalienės rūmų šeimyninėj ant savo galingo kūno užsivilkęs moterišką rūbą ir Omfalės liepimu audė drobę. Tik po metų tokios vergijos Heraklis nusviedė į šalį kuodelį ir moterišką apdarą, išsitraukė paslėptą kalaviją ir kuoką ir, vėl pasijutęs Dzeuso sūnumi, pusdieviu, sugrįžo daryti žygdarbių į savo tėvynę. |
