The Museum of General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania was registered as an independent institution in 2018. However, the Museum started operating much earlier as a structural unit of the Academy. In 2006, the Museum became an associated member of the Lithuanian Museum Association.

The Museum collects, stores and displays exhibits related to the Academy’s history, promotes the Lithuanian Armed Forces and the General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania, contributes to the civic education of cadets, and introduces the public to the history of the Lithuanian state, the Lithuanian Armed Forces, and the General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania.
