Description
Exhibit description | Meistriško piešinio, subtiliai niuansuotos toninės modeliuotės litografija, sukurta pagal Valentino Vankavičiaus (1800–1842) autoportretą. Tai dailininkas tapytojas, plačiai žinomo Adomo Mickevičiaus portreto „Ant Ajudaho kalno“ autorius. Kilęs nuo Minsko. Iš pradžių mokėsi Polocko jėzuitų kolegijoje, 1818–1824 studijavo Vilniaus universitete dailės dalykus pas Joną Rustemą ir Joną Damelį. 1820 ir 1822 universiteto dailės parodose eksponavo daugiausia portretus. 1825–1829 tobulinosi Peterburge, Imperatoriškojoje dailės akademijoje. Jo tapyba, baigiant akademiją, buvo įvertinta dviem sidabro ir aukso medaliu. 1829 jis grįžo į gimtąjį dvarą Malaja Slepiankoje, iš kur dažnai atvažiuodavo į Vilnių. Bičiuliavosi su Andriejum Taujanskiu, paskatinusiu susidomėti mesianizmo idėjomis. Apie 1840 išvyko į užsienį, aplankė Drezdeną, Berlyną, Miuncheną, Strasbūrą. Paskutinį gyvenimo laikotarpį, apie metus, praleido Paryžiuje gyvendamas Adomo Mickevičiaus namuose. Visų pirma buvo portretistas, romantinio portreto tipo kūrėjas, nors ankstyvuoju laikotarpiu yra nutapęs ir klasicistinių mitologinių kompozicijų, Vilniaus peizažų. Į gyvenimo pabaigą tapė dažniau religinius paveikslus ir alegorijas, skirtas Napoleono kultui. |
