Exhibit description | Šis Jono Mačiulio-Maironio portretas yra ankstyviausias iš visų jo portretų. Jį 1904 m. nutapė Jan Ostoja Mioduševskis (Mioduszewski, g.1831 – m.1906), lenkų kilmės dailininkas, kuris mokėsi Peterburgo Imperatoriškojoje menų akademijoje, įgijo istorinės tapybos ir portretų tapymo menininko laipsnį, tobulinosi Paryžiuje, pelnė įvairių apdovanojimų – medalių ir diplomų. Kartkartėmis sugrįždavo į Peterburgą. Apie Maironio ir dailininko J.O. Mioduševskio santykius nėra išlikusių žinių, bet aišku viena – jie buvo pažįstami, nes profesoriaudamas Peterburgo dvasinėje akademijoje (1894–1909), poetas turėjo platų draugų ratą ir aktyvų interesų lauką. Šis, tuomet dar tik keturiasdešimt dvejų metų Maironio portretas, yra ir pats iškiliausias, puošniausias, spalvingiausias, su visomis Peterburgo dvasinės akademijos prorektoriaus ir profesoriaus regalijomis, žiedais, purpuro spalvos mantija. Sėdi prie stalelio, ant kurio padėta knygų ir kepuraitė – biretas. Rankoje nedidelė knygelė – lyg „Pavasario balsų“ tomelis. Šis reikalavimas – pavaizduoti portretuose ne tik kaip dvasiškį, bet ir kaip rašto žmogų, išliks ir vėliau Maironį tapysiantiems dailininkams. Portreto antroje pusėje yra dailininko J.O.Mioduševskio įrašas [vertimas iš lenkų k.]: Žemaičių diecezijos kanauninko Jono Maciulevičiaus, Romos katalikų dvasinės akademijos Peterburge šv. teologijos dr., inspektoriaus ir profesoriaus portretas. Piešė Janas Mioduševskis, dailininkas iš Paryžiaus. Peterburgas. 1904 metai. J.O.Mioduševskio tapytą portretą su puošniais aukso spalvos rėmais Maironis parsivežė į Kauną, jis iki šiol kabo toje pat vietoje, kurią išrinko šeimininkas – darbo kabinete virš rašomojo stalo. Šiame kambaryje galima pamatyti dar vieną J. Mioduševskio darbą – Bartalomėjaus Estebano Muriljo (Bartolomé Esteban Murillo) paveikslo „Šventoji šeima“ itin kokybišką kopiją. |
