Exhibit description | „Didžiojo Tėvynės karo” II-ojo laipsnio ordinas (rus. Орден Отечественной войны). Aversas. Centre – rubino spalvos emale dengta, paauksuotais kraštais, sidabrinė sovietinė penkiakampė žvaigždė, kurios kraštuose sukryžiuoti šautuvas su durtuvu ir šaška (ilgas, lenktas duriamasis peilis). Jos centre – kūjis ir pjautuvas, kurį supa balta emale dengtas apskritimas su penkiakampe žvaigžde su užrašu rusų kalba: „ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННАЯ ВОЙНА“. Vertimas padžodžiui: „Tėvynės karas“. Kompozicija pritvirtinta ant saulės spinduliais stilizuotos, sidabrinės penkiakampės žvaigždės. Reversas. Viršuje – užrašas rusų kalba: „Mонетный двор“. Vertimas: „Monetų kalykla“. Centre – nulūžęs ordino tvirtinimas. Apačioje išgraviruotas ordino serijinis numeris „225927“. Šie ordinai buvo kaldinami tuometinio Leningrado monetų kalykloje. Ordinas įsteigtas 1942 m. gegužės 20 d. SSRS Aukščiausios Tarybos Prezidiumo įsakymu. Pirmieji, retesni, I-ojo ir II-ojo laipsnio ordinai (1942–1943) buvo tvirtinami žiedeliu ir kilpute prie šilkinio muaro su plokštele. Antrojo pasaulinio karo metais I-ojo laipsnio ordinu apdovanoti 324 903 žmonės, II-ojo – 951 652. Po apdovanojimo įstatymo redakcijos pakeitimų (1943 m. ir 1947 m.) stiprėjant stalinistinei karinei propagandai, įvesti antrojo tipo ordinai, kurie iš esmės buvo devaluoti ir praminti „jubiliejiniais“, t. y. teikiami įvairų karinių sukakčių progomis ir komunistinės propagandos tikslais. Tokie ordinai, su užsegimu, teikti iki 1991 m. I-ojo laipsnio ordinu apdovanoti jau 2 000 054 asmenis, II-ojo – net 5 408 000. Eksponuojamas ordinas, ko gero, yra kaldintas 1985 m., t. y. Antrojo pasaulinio karo pabaigos 40-mečiui paminėti. Tą sugestijuoja serijos numerio išgraviravimo tipas ir vieta (reverse, po užsegimu). Šis apdovanojimas buvo teikiamas visoje SSRS ir SSRS okupuotose valstybėse, asmenims tarnavusiems Raudonojoje armijoje ir NKVD (represinio sovietų saugumo, KGB pirmtakės) darbuotojams.
