Description
Exhibit description | Laikrodis saulės, horizontalus su penkiais gnomonais. Lentos viduryje išgraviruota saulė ir valandų skalė su romėniškais skaitmenimis. Laikrodis rodė laiką nuo trečios valandos ryto iki devintos vakaro. Kairiajame lentos kampe, viršuje, išgraviruotos senovės žydų, o dešiniajame – italikų ir babiloniečių laiko skalės. Apačioje – dvi sudėtingos spiralinės skalės, rodančios mėnulio fazes kiekvieną mėnulio mėnesio dieną. Sunku nustatyti, kada Lietuvoje buvo įrengti pirmieji saulės laikrodžiai. Neabejojama, kad daugelis Lietuvos dvarų, rūmų ir bažnyčių ant savo pastatų sienų ar parkuose turėjo tokius laikrodžius. Dar prieš porą šimtmečių jie kaip ir mechaniniai laikrodžiai buvo naudojami. Įdomiausi buvo tie saulės laikrodžiai, kuriuose be valandų ir kalendorinių atžymų būdavo dar pateikta astronominė bei kita informacija. Tai lietuviškos gnomonikos išskirtiniai bruožai. Tokie laikrodžiai padėdavo tiksliau nustatyti ano meto nelabai tikslius mechaninius laikrodžius. Jie buvo gražūs bei prasmingi architektūriniai akcentai, teikiantys nepakartojamo dvasingumo pastatui arba paslaptingumo parko alėjai. Tokių laikrodžių projektavimas buvo įdomus intelektualinis darbas, kurį atlikdavo ne amatininkai, bet išsilavinę žmonės. XVI a. Vilniaus universitete greta taikomosios matematikos ir astronomijos, buvo dėstoma ir gnomonika – mokslas, atsiradęs dar viduramžių Europoje. Tai saulės laikrodžių konstravimo mokslas ir menas. Saulės laikrodžių braižymo metodai vadinami horografija. Žymiausi šioje srityje dirbę profesoriai ne tik dėstė teorines saulės laikrodžių konstravimo žinias, bet ir patys yra pagamino ne vieną puikų gnomonikos paminklą. Ši disciplina buvo dėstoma iki XIX a. ne tik Vilniaus universitete, bet ir krašto kolegijose, kurios veikė Kražiuose, Nesvyžiuje, Troškūnuose ir keliose kitose vietose. Lietuviškos raštijos pradininkai saulės laikrodžius vadino „saulės dziegoriumi“. |
