Exhibit description | Akvamanilės kojos nulūžusios nuo indo korpuso, primena liūto letenas. Kojų ilgis 4,5 ir 12,5 cm. Plotis ties pėda 2,5 cm. Pėdos dydis 2,4 x 2,7 cm. Manoma, kad šis indas į Lietuvą galėjo patekti iš Žemutinės Saksonijos, kur XIII a. įsikūrė jų gamybos centras. Akvamanilė – bronzinis arba keraminis kartais gyvūno, kartais žmogaus pavidalo indas, skirtas vandeniui ant rankų pilti. Viduramžiais šie indai buvo naudojami bažnyčiose religinių apeigų metu, tačiau ir didikai nevengė jų dėti ant savo stalo, nes rankų plovimas valgio metu buvo svarbi dvaro etiketo dalis.
