Information about the museum
The Vincas Krėvė-Mickevičius Memorial Flat-Museum, a branch of the Directorate of Vilnius Memorial Museums, was established in 1997 in Vilnius, in a house where the Lithuanian literary classic, professor Vincas Krėvė-Mickevičius (1882–1954) lived in the years 1940–1944.
The writer witnessed the tragic historical upheavals of the 20th century, which gave his work and life great emotional depth, a broad sense of historicism, and heightened the complexity of the problems and characters he portrayed. All this is highlighted in the exhibition.
The authentic environment of the house is recreated in the two rooms of the exhibition: the writer's study and the family living room.
